Climbing pads: the benchmark for safety for outdoor climbing

The climbing crash pads SNAP are high-end receiving mats designed to secure your falls during natural rock climbing. Featuring a bi-density foam assembly made in France, our pads offer a uniform receiving surface to stabilize the impact and effectively absorb the fall, while incorporating ultra-resistant recycled materials to meet the demands of the rock.

Bimodal mousse, monobloc design and % recycled 100% cover

Designed by and for climbers, our reception carpet models incorporate advanced technical features to ensure durability and comfort of use in the field:

  • Bi-density foam (Origin France): An upper layer of closed-cell polyethylene (PE) to distribute and stabilize the impact, combined with a lower layer of high-density polyurethane (PU) with open cells to cushion the fall.
  • Robust case and TPU bottom: A 600D 100% % recycled polyester envelope. The bottom is coated with waterproof TPU, easy to clean and ultra-resistant to wear, with a seamless design on the edges to prevent tearing.
  • Intelligent carry system: The removable shoulder straps are placed on the top of the pad. Thus, they are never in contact with the ground when the pad is placed, ensuring a clean back during the return walk. The buckle is made of indestructible aluminum alloy.
  • Monobloc design (Taco): The majority of our models roll in two without a central crease, thus avoiding any weak points (or «hole») in the middle of the receiving area.
  • Integrated felt: A dedicated pocket includes a small double-sided mat to clean the sole of your slippers before your try-on.

How to complete the installation of the block on the spot?

To ensure optimal safety along the most engaged lines and secure departures in a seated position:

  • Place an additional climbing mat (like our additional model «Blanket») to fill in gaps, roots, or protect a low landing.
  • Discover our range of inflatable crash pads (Air Shock series) to combine minimal bulk when approaching and a very wide surface area for contact with the ground.
  • Equip yourself with an climbing brush to clean the rock grain and a high-quality climbing magnet.
  • Find all the essentials in our general category climbing accessories.

FAQ on climbing crash pads

What is the thickness of a SNAP crash pad?

The thickness of our crash pads varies depending on the model to suit your practice. Our standard and intermediate models (such as Hip, Hop or Stamina) offer a thickness of 10 to 11 cm. For highballs and more intense receptions, our high-end models (such as Phatty or Grand Stamina) reach a thickness of 14 cm.

How to easily transport your crash pad over the cliff?

Our monobloc crash pads roll up in two. They are equipped with padded and adjustable shoulder straps. An internal safety loop allows you to slide and keep your climbing gear (socks, water bottle, small bag) directly inside the folded pad for easier approach walking.

Where are the SNAP crash pads manufactured?

To guarantee the best possible cushioning quality, all the foams in our crash pads are manufactured in France. The final assembly of the foams in their covers (which originate from Vietnam) is also carried out in France.

How to store your crash pad between two sessions?

It is strongly recommended to store your crash pad open and flat in a dry place. This prevents the foams from remaining compressed too long at the fold area, thus ensuring maximum durability of the cushioning.
