SNAP, born in the 90s in Chamonix, is an iconic French brand known in the climbing world for its quirky and innovative vision of climbing products. From the beginning, SNAP made its mark with wiregate quickdraws and ultra-resistant crash pads. Today, it continues to break away from strictly traditional views and creates standards for a new spontaneous vision of climbing, encouraging free and aesthetic spirits.
This is an exclusive construction method. It is a one-piece ballistic polyester (1680 denier) reinforcement that goes all the way around the crash pad, over, over and under, without any seams on the edges. Try to find a more resistant crash pad!
This is a patented variable hardness model that makes the scarf relatively flexible and comfortable for sit starts, but the higher you go and the longer the fall, the firmer the crash pad becomes.
The PU foam is separated into 24 individual cells, each covered with a taffeta envelope, which is slightly pierced. During a small fall, air is expelled through these holes, resulting in a softer landing, but this is not the case during a larger fall. In this case, the air is retained by the envelope because the speed of the impact is much higher and the air does not have time to be expelled. The net result is a firmer crash pad for a high impact fall – simple but effective.
